Divisions and Awards: Awards sponsored by Woodcraft of Richmond. Visitors and guests of Woodcraft of Richmond will vote on each division - Open, Intermediate, and Novice. Top three winners in each division will be granted an award.

Registration:

Registration will be located in one of the classrooms at Woodcraft of Richmond, VA.

Show Competition Rules

Divisions:

Novice: Novice division is open to individuals who have been carving for less than 5 years and who’ve never won a JRWC Best of Novice ribbon

Intermediate: Intermediate division is open to individuals who have been carving for over 5 years and have not won a JRWC People’s Choice or Best of Intermediate ribbon

Open: Open division is open to advanced and professional woodcarvers with extensive experience or to teacher of carving classes or who demonstrate at major events or sell pieces at art shows/galleries or published in national carving magazines.

Rules:

Entries include items carved from wood and pyrography/wood burnings.

Entries created using CNC, Turning, or Laser machines or carved from a commercial kit or rough-out are not permitted.

Individuals may enter up to 10 items.

Individuals must enter all their items within the same division.

Entries must have been created in the last 2 years.

Entries must be created by the person entering the competition.

Entries must remain on display until Sunday afternoon.
