Meeting and Woodcarving ProjectTime: 6:00 pmCarving Project: Carving Wood SpiritsInstructor: Kathy OvercashDescription:According to legend, wood spirits bring happiness, good luck, and peace within the home. The students will carve their own special wood spirit from a piece of cottonwood bark. “Some” of the bark pieces will have the basic foundation of the face blocked out (time permitting). This will help beginners get to the detail work. We will be using various carving tools such as U-gouges, v-tools, and detail knives. Safety gear such as carving gloves and thumb guards are required.Cost: Bark costs vary based on weight – Pieces selected will be between $5-$10 (you pick the size)Class Size Limited to 15.
